I mean, seriously, do you want to kiss me?

I wrote/drew this last week when I was in a bit of a creative slump. Fortunately, after the first time that I completed it, I did not have convenient means to scan and post it. When I looked back at my work I thought, 'man, this is a step backwards.' I decided to draw both pages all over again and that's what this post is: the second draft.

I'm beginning to answer the 'graphic' question. I think that sex is an intergral part to a 'love story' (if I may use the term), but I'd like to handle it discreetly. I think this is a successful first step. Nothing truely graphic...your thoughts? I'm also trying to bring this heightened/altered consciousness aspect to things...are you interested? This aspect of the narrative feels particularly important for me; am I being sucessful in making it important for you?

After reading the dream discussion again I realize that it's pretty poorly worded, but that can be easily changed. I just want you to know that I know.

this is quite well done. very 'tasteful' sex scene, quite pretty. i didn't realize that you had to supply the condom, though; that's interesting.

let's not read to deeply into THAT.

ok. collapse comment.

It is important to note my supply of condoms because it is just one more testament to my STELLAR packing/preparedness skills (skillz).

this one is quickly moving up the charts as an early favorite.

I really wanted to begin my comment with "oh, hey", but I'll leave being MOm to Trish. Bye the way, "Hi Trish! Glad you're leaving comments on here! They're smart and funny".

I think that the consciousness aspect is usually best coupled with the mc escher-esque pieces, if only because it allows one to get into proper affective state (whoa, I think I just realized something about art...duh). In these pages, I feel that the primary focus is still on meg and kip interacting, with a particular emphasis on meg's *dare I say* insecurities with the interactions. Not that you're not aiming for that, but I wanted to use that observation to supplement my respose to your question about how the philosophical sie was going.

silly me: drop the 'e' off my 'bye the way'

He is so thoughtful as not to wake his other roommates. Kudos for that. I think I should pick up a copy of that book you keep on talking about. I think it will make me understand you as a friend better. It is always good to keep your own supply of condoms. I don't know how to express my opinions as eloquently as your friend Desiree but I want you to know that these are really good and I am enjoying them very much.

I like how this one has the recurring kip drawing at the beginning and at the end. Plus, I liked your discussion as well. This one is one of my favs so far.

I really like this one. And the sex is drawn well.

Remember your question marks. (That's a statement, not a question.) There should be one after the self portrait question.

Oh Hey,
I'm glad you are getting so many great comments. I like the lay out of the righthand page. It reminds me of a side view of a gopher's burrow under the ground.
Love, MOm

PS Desi, Thanks for your nice comments about my comments.
